I was born and raised all over southern Minnesota. My parents raised my brother, two sisters, and myself in the love of Christ. I attended a Lutheran day school from kindergarten through 8th grade. I graduated from Concordia, St. Paul University, MN with a double major in early childhood education (birth-grade 3) and elementary education (preK-grade 6). I was called to teach 1st grade at Zion right out of college. I began the school year in August 2006. Since then, I have assumed the roles of basketball coach, volleyball coach, athletic director, youth counselor, and praise band member. My husband, Matt, and I live with our son, Ezekiel, in our home in Deloit. We are expecting our second child in August. We are blessed with a full family of parents, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and more.
God has uniquely created each child. In my classroom, I strive to identify the needs of each child and individualize curriculum to meet those needs. It is my responsibility to teach educational standards as well as to instill a love of learning in each student. I believe it essential for families and teachers to work together to make each school year the best it can be. Most importantly, I make sure each student knows that they are loved by me and by God. I promote respect for God, His creation, self, and others. The greatest joy in teaching is to hear the witnessing, prayer, and love between students.
