I am Shari Bruck, K-8 Art and MS teacher at Zion. I have my BA in Elementary/Special Education from Luther College and my MA in Curriculum & Instruction from The College of St. Scholastica. I taught Special Education & General Education for many years before teaching in my lifelong interest area, the arts. I live just outside of Denison with my husband, Jeff and our 3 children, Madison, Katelyn & Jacob. Our children have all attended Zion since Kindergarten, with our oldest, Madison, beginning her Junior year and Katelyn will begin her Sophomore year at Denison High School. Jacob will be in 7th grade at Zion this year. I also teach education and early childhood education courses for Buena Vista University and Western Iowa Tech. In my free time, I love to read, garden, craft & crochet, and spend time with my family!
I believe that each child has been given unique talents by our Lord. As a teacher, it is my joy to help each child discover and build upon their talents. Each day provides a new opportunity to open children’s minds to new information and new ways to understand the world God made for them. It is my goal to provide students with the skills and inspiration to explore God’s world through open-minded eyes and to use their talents to create unique and individual art works using their hearts, hands, and minds.
